    Dufrocq is a PBIS school!

    Our Program

The Dufrocq School offers three academically challenging programs. In addition to our traditional program, we have an expanded Montessori Program to include another primary class and an Academic Magnet Program for K-5 students.  Other enrichment offerings include Latin, offered to students beginning in the 3rd grade; Achieve 3000, FASTT Math, Accelerated Reader, and special interest clubs.

At The Dufrocq School we believe that music and art are an integral part of the learning process, therefore our school is equipped with a music and an art room. This will foster a greater appreciation for the arts.

In the 2010-2011 school year we will implement the Micro-Society program. The Micro-Society philosophy acknowledges that students learn best when they connect school work with the outside world.  In this program, students create a miniature society where they learn how to create their own businesses and government agencies such as a bank, post office, court system, and legislature at school.

Our faculty and staff at The Dufrocq School are committed to educational excellence and change. Teachers are empowered to work to improve student learning. They participate in professional learning communities; collaborating, researching scientific-based best practices, and mentoring each other.

The Dufrocq School has the strong support of many partners in education. This actively involved group consisting of parents, and volunteers from business and members of the community, offers their skills, talents and abilities, assisting us in accomplishing the mission of our great school.

The school is located in the South Baton Rouge area and serves students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Our mission and primary goal is to help all students at Dufrocq succeed academically.  The challenging curriculum offered will nuture a genuine love for learning and develop the creative and intellectual abilities of our students.  Students attending The Dufrocq School will develop a sense of self worth, a desire to help others, and a strong academic foundation from which to continue a life long pursuit of learning.
