A Guide for Montessori Parents

1.) Each Friday, the following will be in your child’s homework folder:

A) Work Plan

B) Weekly Progress Report

C) Classwork

D) Newsbook

E) Acclerated Reader Scores (Usually second or third nine weeks)

*Please make sure that you sign the Work Plan, Progress Report, and Classwork (last page).

2.) Fun Friday: Every student’s name is included on a Fun Friday List for the school year. Please send a healthy snack (store bought) when it is your child’s turn. You may choose to send something educational (pencils, erasers, etc) instead. Please mark your calendar for your child’s Fun Friday. It can be very embarrassing to the child if his or her Fun Friday is not brought. If it is a problem for you, let me know in advance so we can work something out. Make sure to send it in a brown paper bag so that the contents remain a secret.

3.) Homework: Your child’s homework needs to be signed every night. This lets Mrs. Crayton and I know that you have checked it. If the handwriting is not your child’s best, please have him/her redo their homework.

4.) Homework Folder: Your child may bring a clear, plastic folder for homework. Some students use the expandable file folders for homework. They work well also.

5.) Breakfast: If your child eats breakfast at school, he/she needs to arrive before 8:15am.

6.) Your child is encouraged to check out book from the classroom and the school library. Please make sure books are returned.

7.) Parents must go to the office before coming to our classroom. You must have a Visitor’s Pass to enter the classroom. Parents are always welcome anytime.
