Hello! My name is Ashley Ransburg and I am a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade Montessori Teacher at Dufrocq Montessori Magnet School. I actually began my teaching career right here at Dufrocq. As a child, I attended Montessori school from Preschool through 4th grade. In 2005, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University. Currently, I am working on my Montessori Elementary I (6-9 year old) certification.
Although my teaching career has just begun, I feel that I have much to bring to the classroom. I plan to create a safe, nurturing environment for my students. I plan to provide engaging learning experiences. Children will be able to explore their talents in my classroom. I hope to use many of the effective teaching strategies I have learned so that I can give students a new and exciting spin on the curriculum. I would like the students to be able to enjoy lessons that spark their interest in something new.
Also, my classroom will be a place where diversity is celebrated. I want to show students that all kinds of people make up our world so we must appreciate and accept each other’s differences.
