Welcome to KINDERGARTEN where our work is child's play.

 Hi there!  I'm Ms. Bender and I am delighted to be part of the new Dufrocq School. This fall begins my 10th year in teaching. I began my career in education in St. Louis, Missouri in 2000 and fulfilled my childhood dream of becoming a teacher.  In 2002 I moved here to Baton Rouge where I taught 3rd grade and kindergarten at Baton Rouge Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. In 2007, I left BRCVPA to take advantage of an opportunity to teach 2nd grade at The International School of Amsterdam in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. And now - here I am, back in Baton Rouge, back in kindergarten and loving it!  I've also been back 'in school'!

I have my BS in Early Childhood Education from the University of Missouri and my MA in General Education from Maryville University and I achieved National Board Certification in 2005.  I feel blessed to be here at Dufrocq where the children are a delight, the parents are supportive and the faculty and staff are a privilege to work with.    Each day is a new adventure here.  It's a very exciting place to be.  Come visit and you'll see what I mean.  We have an open door policy - visitors are always welcome.  We love to share and show what we know.  See you in kindergarten.
